Redesigning a facilities management website without losing the ranking you already have

A facilities management website redesign should keep the search visibility your current pages have earned, which means mapping every existing URL and redirecting it correctly rather than starting from a blank slate.

Who it is for

Who this service is for

  • Facilities companies with a site that is several years old, slow on a phone, or no longer matches the services and regions they run.
  • Owners worried that a redesign will lose the search traffic their current pages already bring in.
01

What usually goes wrong in a redesign

The most common redesign mistake is treating it as a fresh start: new URLs, no redirects, and pages that used to rank now returning a broken link. For a facilities company that may have one or two pages that took years to earn their position, that is real value lost in a single afternoon.

Redesign without losing rankings: Map every old URL; 301 redirect each change; Old links land correctly; Rankings carry over. Truss, the FacilityWebStudio rhino mascot, holds a direction sign from the old building to the new one.
02

How we protect what already works

Before launch we map every URL on your current site and put a 301 redirect in place for anything that changes, so search engines and anyone with an old bookmark land on the equivalent new page rather than an error. Content that already performs well is used as the basis for the new page rather than discarded.

03

What actually changes

The visible design, the site speed, the page structure around services and locations, and the presence of a real service level ledger table are what change. The goal is not novelty for its own sake; it is documenting your business in a way your current site does not.

What is not included

Saying plainly what the work does not cover makes the rest easier to trust.

  • Running any facilities service, or advice on your contracts, safety or compliance obligations.
  • Paid ad spend, printed collateral and bid writing.
  • Publishing client names, building details or certifications you cannot verify or are not permitted to disclose.

07Cost sheet

What it costs and what changes the price

The price is set by the plan, not by the page count: Baseline Ledger $137/ month, Operating Ledger $297/ month + usage, Enterprise Ledger $747/ month, each plus a $797 build fee invoiced after launch. What moves you between plans is whether you want the AI Engine answering calls and messages, and whether you want the Content Engine producing social posts and reels.

Every plan carries a $797 one-time build fee, invoiced only after your site is live and approved. The AI Engine plan adds AI usage on top of its monthly fee; text-message carrier fees are passed through at cost.

Client notes

What operators say about this kind of build

  • We suspected our facility walkthroughs content existed in two versions. The audit found more. Everything now lives in one maintained reference, with the duplicates retired or redirected. Updates stopped being a treasure hunt.

Content audit and update process for facility walkthroughs

  • If you only look at the design you miss the best bit, which is the inquiry form. It collects property use, floor area and service schedule up front, so the back-and-forth we used to do by reply has largely gone. Most mornings I can prepare for the callback from the first message alone.

Questions about facilities management website redesign

Will our search rankings drop during the redesign?

Proper redirect mapping is built specifically to prevent that. There can be a short adjustment period as search engines recrawl the new URLs, which is normal and typically resolves within weeks.

Can you migrate content from our current site directly?

Yes. Send us access or an export of your current content and we use what is accurate as the basis for new pages, rewritten into the documented structure this build is centered on.

What happens to our current domain?

It stays yours. We point it at the new site, or if you want a fresh domain we register one in your name at no extra cost while your plan is active.

How disruptive is the redesign process for our team?

One onboarding call and responsiveness to a handful of content questions is typically all that is needed from your side; we run the technical migration.

Will a redesign lose our Google rankings?

Not if it is mapped properly. We list every existing URL, keep ranking pages at the same address where possible and 301-redirect the rest before launch.

Can we keep our current domain and email?

Yes. We point your domain at the new site and check your email records during launch so mail keeps flowing.

How long does a redesign take?

The same launch windows apply as for a new build, measured from the onboarding call, because the page structure is proven and the work is content and migration.

What happens to our old hosting?

Once the new site is live and redirects are tested, you can cancel it. Hosting for the new site is included in the monthly fee.
